As the last bit of sun beamed between the heavy floral drapes, the little pup began to bark.

“Dear sweet Momo, thank you for keeping watch over me. That was the best day’s sleep I have enjoyed for months,” exclaimed Miss Akiko. “Ulysses was right, I was beyond exhausted and now I am ready to conquer whatever comes our way!”

Collette was having a fabulous day. When Jonathan pulled the dusty unicycle from under his bed, the monkey squealed with glee.

Collette held onto her beret as she rode on Jonathan’s shoulder down every street and through every alley. She was thrilled when the clown laughed loudly as he purposely hit every pot hole and curb.

When they arrived at the shop, the closed sign was already out, but Jonathan simply shrugged and winked. But when Soojin saw the pair outside, she opened the door and waved Jonathan inside.

“He is buying a gift for Olga,” Collette thought as she giggled and shoved a tiny elephant into her mouth.

Miss Akiko cheerfully carried the pumpkin she purchased at the harvest festival into her workroom. “This will definitely brighten up the place, don’t you think?” she asked the man wrapped in carpet who was resting on the rack. Rudely, he did not respond.

Mary smiled as she felt the heat from the crackling fire on her thin, old cheeks. She was sure that Ezra was enjoying the warmth as well.

Mrs. Cook hoped that Mr. Cook finally realized that her actions saved him from a life of certain misery. Last year when she discovered his plan to run off to Portland with that painted up floozy who worked at the Liberty Theater, Mary took matters into her own hands. Yes, by now he certainly understood that she only wanted the best for him. “Hello my sweet,” Mary whispered as she slowly opened the small door.

“Hello, my sweet,” Mary whispered.

Petra was not in the habit of exiting her golem in public. In her opinion it was not only uncouth, but alarming for those who had not yet made her acquaintance.

Today, the wee rat made an exception. She exited the little door in the back of her trusty golem’s head, carefully crawled down the red checkered dress and scurried towards the chewy goodness on her plate. Petra sighed as the sweetness hit her tongue, but when she looked up she saw Soojin standing by the fireplace wearing a shocked expression.

“You try eating a gooey caramel apple through an eye-hole, sister!” she grumbled in her tiny human voice.

“You’re new here.”

“What’s it to ya?”

“I don’t believe you should be riding horsey in the nude. It’s unsanitary.”

“Mind your own beeswax. I’m a baby. Who died and made you the boss?”

Skullatina Skittles smiled sweetly and shook her head. “Oh, darling, you have crossed the wrong dolly.”
